During editing I had to try to find the perfect balance between keeping some conversations private while trying to keep some gossip audible. Learning to knit from the people within my Home
Audio
Learning to knit started with a trip to my grandma, who is an absolute knitting, embroidery, crocheting etc pro! She lent me materials to start with and taught me all the basics to start with. She contributed even more by often sending pinterest inspiration and even knitting a few patches for us!

For the Tapestry we really wanted it to be big enough that it would (almost) reach the floor from the ceiling so people would have a lot to look at. We also wanted the back to be as interesting as the front and it to tell it's own story. By not tucking in the leftover threads from the different patches we tried to also give more of an insight into the process of creating this tapestry. Kinda similar to Mariadela Araujo's Conversations piece. With this piece she wants to show the unseen/ the unshowable.

With these patches I wanted to incorporate a little of how my SKorean background is part of my home experience. And with that I mostly wanted to show how little I still know about that part of me. And maybe also a little of the struggle to get any knowledge of my roots that isn't extremely surface level.
